Federico Valverde is expected to score at least 10 goals this season, according to Carlo Ancelotti.
Having scored six goals and provided two assists so far this season, Valverde has been one of Real Madrid’s most impressive players.
The midfielder scored two goals in his most recent two games, helping his team defeat Barcelona and Elche.
Ancelotti claimed earlier in the campaign that he was so certain his player would score at least 10 goals that he wouldn’t deserve to continue as manager if the Uruguayan didn’t, and the Italian is now betting on his chances of being proven correct.
“I made a bet, but I think he’ll score more than 10 this season,” he said.
“If he scores four more then I get to keep my coaching license! He keeps surprising us. He does well on the wing or in midfield.”
